This 10-year-old boy donated his hair to create wigs for young cancer patients

10-year-old Thomas Moore, from Maryland, USA, came up with the idea when he saw his mother, Angie Pulos, watching a video on Facebook about a girl named Kyssi Andrews, who had cancer and lost all her hair due to chemotherapy. Pulos explained to her 8-year-old son about cancer, and chemotherapy is a treatment that causes the patient’s hair to fall out.

Hearing his mother say that, Thomas had an idea. He would grow his hair long and send it to a charity that makes wigs. These wigs are for children with cancer who have lost all their hair.

When he was little, Thomas used to have small, long braids, so he thought he would grow his hair long again and ask his mother to tie it up. Thomas did not set a time limit for how long he would grow his hair, but just waited because he wanted his hair to be long enough for girls to be happy. So, the boy spent 2 years growing his hair.

During the two years, Thomas created an amazing hair, it was so thick and long that he had to use clips to hold it. This was not an easy task, but Thomas was determined to do what he wanted and realized that the goal was worth the wait. When he cut his hair, his hair could make three wigs.

Thomas’s aunt Amber Ray posted a photo before and after the haircut on Twitter with the caption “my nephew grew his hair for 2 years to donate to children with cancer”. And immediately the photo attracted the attention of the media and everyone. More than 57k shares and more than 110k likes proved that people were surprised and amazed by the actions of a child.

Everyone admired Thomas’s heart and wished good things would come to the boy – who has a warm heart.
