At just three months old, a puppy named Reese has already faced more hardship than most animals will ever know. Found with severe injuries, including a broken jaw and multiple deep wounds, she was only hours away from being put down when rescuers stepped in to give her another chance at life.

Reese’s journey began on April 23, when animal control officers received a call about an injured stray. When she was brought in, the extent of her injuries was so severe that euthanasia was considered the only option. As a last effort, a local rescue group was contacted—and they immediately agreed to take her in, determined to fight for her recovery.

Upon arrival at Bluff City Veterinary Specialists in Memphis, Tennessee, Reese underwent a CT scan that revealed the full extent of her injuries. She had three fractures on the right side of her jaw, a fracture near her sinuses, another through the roof of her mouth, and one involving the bone around her eye. In addition, she had extensive tissue damage to her lower jaw and bruising along her body.

Veterinarians confirmed that the injuries were consistent with prolonged trauma. For a puppy so young, the damage was devastating. But despite her condition, Reese showed signs of resilience, capturing the hearts of everyone who met her.

Her treatment plan is complex and costly, with medical expenses expected to reach $12,000. The rescue organization caring for her has launched a fundraising effort to cover her surgeries, treatments, and rehabilitation. Every contribution goes directly toward ensuring Reese gets the care she urgently needs.

The team has made Reese the same promise they extend to every animal in their care: that she will be given every possible chance to heal and eventually find a safe, loving home. While her road to recovery will be long and challenging, the outpouring of support has already given her a foundation of hope.
