Hocus Pocus 3 (2025)

Hocus Pocus 3 brings back the iconic Sanderson sisters—Winnie, Sarah, and Mary—along with a new generation of witches, magic, and mayhem, in what can only be described as the perfect mix of nostalgia and fresh magic. Directed by Anne Fletcher, this third installment in the beloved Hocus Pocus franchise continues the spooky, hilarious tradition of the original films, while also injecting modern-day charm and a new batch of characters that give the series a much-needed update for today’s audience.

The film kicks off decades after the Sanderson sisters were last resurrected, with a whole new generation unaware of the chaos they once caused in Salem. The story follows a group of teenagers, including a young witch-in-training named Elle (played by Zendaya), who accidentally unleashes the Sanderson sisters once more when they stumble upon an ancient spellbook that has been hidden away in Salem’s archives.

This time, the sisters are more formidable than ever, as they adapt to the modern world, using new technology and their centuries-old magic in wild, comedic ways. Winnie (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy) haven’t lost their quirky dynamic, and their rivalry with Elle and her friends adds another layer of fun. As the sisters once again try to suck the life force from the children of Salem, the film balances humor, horror, and heart as Elle and her crew—joined by a familiar face or two from the original film—race to stop them before it’s too late.

One of the standout elements of Hocus Pocus 3 is how it blends the old and new. The return of the original cast is a true highlight, with Midler, Parker, and Najimy slipping back into their roles as the hilarious, bumbling witches with such ease and enthusiasm that it feels like they’ve never been away. Their comedic timing is impeccable, and they continue to have a blast playing the mischievous sisters.
