Filmed across desert landscapes and massive soundstages with gravity-defying rigs, the production recreated the alien world of Barsoom with breathtaking realism.  Unknown to many, Taylor Kitsch trained extensively in zero-gravity stunts, combat choreography, and alien movement techniques, performing most action sequences himself.

 The director disclosed that this sequel explores new Martian civilizations, ancient gods, and political intrigue, expanding the mythology beyond the first film.  Practical effects dominated—massive creature puppets, elaborate city sets, and pyrotechnics were used to create immersive battle sequences.

 Even the soundtrack elevates the adventure—epic orchestral swells, alien instrumentation, and driving percussion echo the grandeur and danger of Mars.
